Everything is back to normal at work, except my co-worker Nicki had her baby - yay! And we have a new gal, Diane at work. She is so sweet and we enjoy working together.
Well, the reason for my slacking of updating is because my husband just started having Wednesdays off! Which also happens to be my day off, so it's kind of our play day. On St. Patrick's Day we relived our first date we went on a year ago. Oh buddy and this is a story lol....
So we first started out by going to 360 Cafe on 25th street because that's where we went. We've gone in there a few times since then and know the owners pretty well. We had some yummy soup and after all the customers left they shared some of their ridiculously delicious cookies with us. Afterwards, we headed to the Union Station.
Ohhh, the Union Station. We always seem to meet the most interesting people there. Like for example, Joe, who we met on our first date who took us through the Browning gun musuem only to somehow venture off into some akward conversation about his ex wife's 44 F size boobs. Anways, we went to see if good ol' Joe was there, but he wasn't. So after looking through the train portion, we went upstairs to the Browning musuem (where we previously met Joe). We scanned through the guns (since the previous year we got each one's history, thanks to Joe lol). We're about to head down the stairs when Jaren came across this random hall, and asked the lady sitting at the desk, "hey what does this hall go to?" she oh so seriously got up and said, "that's where the most paranormal activity takes place." then looking at Jaren with a serious look on her face said, "I could telepathetically tell you wanted to go down there. If you don't tell anyone, I will." and Jaren "seriously" said back, "oh you picked up on that huh?" ;) and off we went! I'll admit it was pretty warm in that building, but when we went into that hall, there was a bone chilling breeze. She told us some of the ghosts that live there and we enjoyed the stories. We still crack up about her telepatheticness lol.
Then we went to the old cars musuem and learned some interesting facts. Two gentleman were leading us through and we told them it was our anniversary date, and one of them let us sit in a vintage gangter gar (literally, this gang used it). It was prettty awesome, since no one is allowed to sit or even touch the cars! The elder of the gentlemen got really excited about the cars and took off with Jaren and I was with the other one. Yeah, pretty much got his life story. I didn't mind, since most of these people are volunteers it seems like they just need someone to talk to. Afterwards, we went into the antique shops we like to browse around and I put on the same gooofy hat I tried on the last year. We would've bought it, but for $60, no thanks. Besides, it's fun going back and seeing it still there.
This past week we sold our expedition to Bryn, and Bryn and I went and got haircuts. I am so pleased with mine! She took of 3 inches of split ends, gave me layers and bangs. We also looked at a few houses. We're still looking for a house, the house we want we nicknamed "the swan house" as it is on Swan street, is up for rent...too bad for us someone is renting it. We just realized though that with buying a house you have utilities to pay and we didn't take that into the budget. So we'll see what happens. If anything, it's still fun to look.
We've still been keeping up the tradition of movie night with Dustin. I look forward to Tuesday nights because of it. We've had a lot of fun enjoying each other's company and watching new movies.
So there's our exciting life! It's nice to have something to write about other than work. Upcoming and exciting events: Bryn is having a girl! Baby Lyla will be here in August. Brooke's baby boy Cannon will be here in June. And Sara's baby will be born in cold Alaska in August? too. Hawaii is just about 8 weeks away, and by the time we get back my family will be here! That's all for now.
Love, Jess
