Ups and Downs of Fall

So I left off talking about Halloween, which was so much fun! We got to dress up at work and pass out candy to the kids ( for those who don't know, I work as an optometrist tech inside the doctor's office, inside Lenscrafter's) . After work, we met with friends and played games. I love dressing up for Halloween, I'm pretty sure that's the best part. Jaren dressed up as a minstrel and I was the classic Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffany's.
November has has a rough start for me this year. I found out I will not be able to go to my families for Christmas. Well, let me rephrase it, I could have a whole 5 days off which would cost $1800 to fly to AK. Yeah so not happening. I also got some kind of virus going around that makes me feel exhausted. I'm always feeling tired and just want to be at home (which is so unlike me). Jaren and I both came home sick one day and just rented redbox movies, had cider and soup, and just cuddled up in bed. It was so relaxing! Just an FYI: NOT pregnant. Pretty sure 2 pregnancy tests can confirm that. I also had to see the lady doctor, which was an experience I will spare you from. Luckily, I have a wonderful husband who treats me like a princess. After having quite the traumatic doctor visit, he went shopping with me at a boutique and took me to dinner.
Even though this month has not looked too promising, I'm keeping my chin up! Good things are coming this month! The 22nd my friend Shaleena is coming for an overnight visit, 24-25th my hubby surprised me by booking us a room at our favorite inn (take a wild guess lol), and the 25th we get to see Sara, Jared, and Logan while they are in a layover at the airport! For those who don't know Sara is one of my best friends from Alaska, so it will be so exciting to see her family, even if it's only for a few hours.
So random tidbits that happened this month: I'm in Primary, again. I'm excited because I get to work with the sunbeams aka the 3 year olds. And they are an adventure all on their own. In fact I should probably be getting ready for church now...
Until next time..Love,
Jess

Halloween is right around the corner!

Wow, it's for sure time for an update! Things have been going great since I last updated. We've enjoyed the month October and all its fun happenings.
At the beginning of this month I went on an overnight backpacking trip with my husband, two brother in laws and father law. It was beautiful see all the scenery with the leaves changing vivid colors of red and orange. By the time we got up to the top of the mountain where we camped, it started raining. We had dinner already cooking by then and were really too hungry to care. It just made things more adventurous.
Here's just a few reasons why I love October: pretty leaves, cool weather, hot cocoa, corn mazes, haunted houses and pumpkin flavored everything! Seriously. I didn't really start liking pumpkin until last year, and this year I just love it. I've probably had one too many pumpkin oreo shakes, and slices of pumpkin pie. On Thursday we went to The Haunted Hollow, which is well exactly what is says lol. It was a lot of fun to get scared and see all the fun changes from last year. And last weekend we went to a HUGE corn maze.
I'm so excited for this week. Friday we have a Halloween party with Jaren's family, Saturday is "Halloween" for people here in Utah lol. So since I'm working, our boss is allowing us to dress up - yesssss! We even get to decorate the office, which will make work a little more enjoyable. After that we have a Halloween party with our friends -yay!
Oh by the way, we put an offer in on a house. It's a fixer' up. It's so cute and we have all these ideas we want to do with it. It's a short sale which means we have to have the seller approve, then let the bank approve. So the seller approved, now it's just waiting for the bank .
So there's our October so far! I can't wait for all the following holidays. That's all for now!

Fall Happenings

Hey Everyone!
*Sigh* I've finally accepted that it's Fall. Colors are changing. It's getting cooler. BUT I won't lie I'm excited for halloween. And hot chocolate.
Well, so far Fall has had a good start. We both have started school back up and we received grants to pay for it (yay for free money!). This past weekend we went to Peach Days in Brigham City. It was so much fun! It totally was so much better than the Weber County fair, which was a fail (no offense, but AK does things big, and yeah...) anyways, we enjoyed Navajo tacos, a yummy overly priced drink, and peach cobbler- yum! It was fun to see all the booths with everyone anxiously selling crafts and other fun things. We went with some fun tee shirts that feel like heaven. Seriously, they are so soft. The guy who sold them to us told us we wouldn't want to take 'em off, he was so right. The rides there looked like a blast, but I'm pretty sure I would've puked. And for those of you who know how much fair food is, you wouldn't want to either lol.
So we're looking into buying a house...again. It's been a total pain with the house business because we've set ourselves for a limit and that's why past houses didn't work out. Well 3rd times a charm, right? Hopefully. The house we're looking out now is a charming older house that needs work. We'd also make the basement into an apartment so we could rent it out. This weekend Jaren is going to a class for a Weber County grant $5,000 grant towards a house (HEY! more free money!). So after he attends that we can put in an offer. We've gotten our hopes up, so hopefully it will work out. If not, we know it's not supposed to be.
I followed up with my neurologist last week about my MRI and EEG. The EEG is abnormal, meaning I obviously still have epilepsy, and the MRI was normal. My neurologist is moving, so I'm going to start seeing a specialist down in Salt Lake City. I'm excited though because she specializes in epilepsy, and she can help us with baby planning. I've been really nervous about having kids because of my epilepsy, but the doctor reassured it would be okay with my medication and this other doctor can really help. Just FYI, we're not having a baby just yet, but we feel it's more sooner than later. Yikes!
Last but not least, my uncle Dustin's acting career is going fabulous! He was in a small local film here and we go to the premier next week. He also had a HUGE audition we're waiting to hear back from. Keep your fingers crossed. Here's to never giving up on your dreams!
Upcoming and exciting events: Dustin's premier of American Rejects next Wednesday, putting in an offer on a house, anxiously awaiting for our family pictures to come in. Grandparents are coming to visit! That's all for now!

1 Year Anniversary! A little belated post...

So I originally had wrote this post a couple days afterour anniversary, BUT it got deleted and out of frustration I was so not in the mood to rewrite it. Anyways, here's what went down for our 1 year!
We started out by being good kids and going to church, we had made reservations at The Anniversary Inn in Logan. Yes, for the 4th time, BUT we've NEVER paid full price. An
d $60 is a smokin' deal! SO we chose Rich's Drive Inn!

It was so cutely set up! The bed of the truck was actually th
e bed! We loved it! It had a the huge big screen, so we're able to borrow some of the movie
s they had there and
just relax. We chose My Best Friend's Wedding (or well I chose that...) and Secondhand Lions. We also finished watching the 2nd "Pirates" because I had fallen asleep the night before. But what would the drive in be without snacks?! Luckily for us it came with dinner and a movie! It came with hot dogs, 4 drinks, popcorn, 2 king size can
dies of our choice, Martinelli's sparkling cider and cheesecake in the fridge.
So, we uh enjoyed the movies ;) and took some
silly pix with th
e fun decor in the room (on facebook), and filled out this fu
n "About Us" book I bought . It was a fantastic stay! We loved everything about the room. It had a cozy feel and a huge tub! We did the extended stay so we
could finish the movies and relax.
The next morning we had a yummy breakfast and headed out. Our first stop was a little restaurant for lunch called The Bluebird. We had read abou
t it and decided to give it a try. Long story short, it was our first and last time going there ha ha. The girl who was supposed to seat us made a scene about it. So someone else sat us. The food was okay, nothing special. We did like the chocolates from the chocolate shop in th
ere though. So if we go back for anything, it'll be the candy.
Our next stop was a little antique shop we passe
d by. Mine and Jaren's thing is antique shops, ever since the first date, so it was kind of fun to browse around. As we were headed home Jaren said he had another way we're going to go home. We instead went up the canyon and enjoyed the view. We even happened to run into a rattle snake! I was so excited/ scared. I wanted to poke it (note I was in the Jeep so I was a little more daring). Instead of being attacked I settled for getting a picture
.Our last and final stop was Inspiration Point. It was a fantastic view. We sat up there and enjoyed the scenery and filled out more over our "About Us" book. After hanging out there for about an hour of so we made our way home. It was a f
abulous anniversary. 1 year and counting! We're excited for our adventure to continue.

Until next time...

Summer's coming to an end..boo!

Hey!
Well summer is coming to an end here soon. I'm so sad, it was an amazing summer but went by TOO fast!
Last time I updated I was getting ready to do my sleep deprived EEG. That was horrible. I stayed up by helping my cousin with her baby, Cannon, which was fun. Then I went home and literally watched America's Got Talent online from 3 am to 1o am. And painted my fingernails in between. It was an exhausting day, and I still don't know the results! I have to wait till my appointment in September.
Also since I last updated the newest lil' addition to the family came: Lyla Melo! She's my new little niece and she sure is a cutie. It was fun because just a couple days later my best friends Shaleena and Angela came to visit! They stayed the night at my place and we caught up and laughed just like the good ol' days! The next day Jaren made us waffles and we tried on wedding dresses for Angela, and walked 25h st. and had a "photo shoot" at the Union Station. Shaleena also gave me highlights while she was here.
Thi past week we went to Lagoon, we had a blast, but I must be getting old because I got sick on some rides that usually don't bother me :( lol. We were able to go with Tannon & Jossi and met up with Angela! It was great! We got bounce back tickets so hopefully we'll be going back Wednesday.
Upcoming and exciting events: tomorrow: looking at a BEAUTIFUL house, Wednesday:Lagoon, Saturday Weber county fair, SUN-MONDAY ANNIVERSARY INN FOR OUR 1 YEAR! YAY!

Summer & Such :)

Hey Everyone!

So far this summer has been such a fun one! My family came down and were here for a few weeks and it was a blast. We also celebrated Jaren's birthday and the 4th! So I'll just kinda touch up on those and something things happening :P .

It was so nice to have my family here. We did a lot of family dinners and visiting. One thing that was really special was my grandpa was able to do a session in the Salt Lake temple with me and Jaren and my Grandma. It was such a nice time, and we got to eat at the yummy Lion House cafe- yum! Another fun thing we did was go to Boondock's, which is a mini- golf/ go cart/ arcade place. It was a lot of fun, and we plan on going back and doing some of the other activities there again. I FINALLY had someone to go and get pedicures with! My mom and grandma went with me. It was nice the nail technician actually asked if I was 18...last time I went I was asked if I was 13 :P . Of course for those who know, for a flower on your toenail it's $5. My dad is most likely getting promoted here shortly, so when they asked if we wanted those on our feet, my mom said, "my husband is getting a promotion - give us all flowers!" ha ha. The time was fun, but it came and went really fast. My family is now at Fairchild AFB (Fairbanks), AK. SO jealous.

So we just had 4th July weekend and it was for sure a memorible one! We started it off by doing crazy bowling with a group date with some of our best buddies. It was a lot of fun! We used the color of M&M's to determine the way we bowled. We probably looked silly, but it was worth it.

Saturday the 3rd was Jaren's birthday, and I wanted to do something fun. I had planned on doing swimming at Cherry Hill, at water park here, but wanted a get away. Anywhere sounded good, even if was a hotel down the street. It just so happened that the hotel I was trying to book wouldn't let me for some reason, so I began searching around some more. B&B everywhere else were costly, and not too great. I had just about given up when I decided to look up The Anniversary Inn. We've been there before and LOVE it! I figured it'd be way too much with wedding season, but was bored at work and took a look. It just so happened there was a July 3rd deal. ANY room $99 (which was nothing compared to them being $200-400 a night). So I booked one! Since I still don't drive, I made up clue to lead him the way. It was windy at Cherry Hill, so we opted out and went straight for The Anniversary Inn. We had anice room, it was a mountain hideaway theme and looked like a log cabin. The shower was the best with a cave shower/ jacuzzi that had a waterfall in it! That night we went and watched fireworks in SLC and they had awesome ones with star shaped fireworks and smiley faces :) (debt free is the way to be kids) . The next day we celebrated Jaren and his brother Tannon's birthday and had onion burgers at Jaren's family's house.

So some of you have been keeping up with my facebook know I've been having stomach problems for quite some time. I didn't know what was going on. I wasn't too concerned until I started bleeding and wasn't on my period. I freaked out and had Jaren call the doctor. I always assume the worst and thought I just so happened to be pregnant and was miscarrying. Long story short, that was so not the case. They did blood work and an ultrasound and I'm still waiting to hear back. I finally had my neurology appointment and that went well. Next Wednesday I have 24 hour sleep deprived EEG. AHH! So no sleeping. And I have an MRI that day too :P.

Anyways, that's an update with us! Upcoming and exciting events: Angela and Shaleena are comingto visit! And our 1 year anniversary is coming up -yay! That's all for now!

Love, Jess

1 Year celebration and other fun Updates!

Holy Smokes! It's been waaay to long since I last updated, and lots of fun stuff has happened! This past week my parents and grandparents came down to visit, and Cannon Chase Hayes (Brooke's baby) joined us too! It's been a fabulous week :) . And almost a week ago Jaren and I got back from Hawaii/ Las Vegas for an early one year anniversary. My main focus is our amazing trip!!
So Saturday night, May 30, we took off right after work to head to Las Vegas! We got off to a late start, but it was great. We, well more like I watched "What Happens In Vegas" on the way down there to keep me occupied. I must be sheltered big time because I so did not know there w ere palm trees in St. George UTAH! Those are my favorite trees ha ha. Anyways, we ended up getting to Vegas at 2 a.m. and were exhausted, well, Jaren was, I was ready to play! We stayed with my cousin Michael and his family.
Sunday- The first day we just decided to walk the strip and see what it was all about. Holy climate change...we had been used to coldish, rainy weather and I could've fried an egg on the sidewalk if I had wanted to! After only 3 hours of walking around all the cool hotels, we were so exhausted we called it a day. Oh we also tried the infamous In & Out burger place. It was cheap and amazing! We were supposed to go to my uncle Grant's for a BBQ, but we went to Michael's and fell asleep until 9! Whoops. It was fun though, we visited with my cousins until about midnight.
Monday - We went to Madame Tussuad's wax museum! It was such a blast. We got to pose with all these wax figures of actors, actresses, and other famous people and they looked so life like! It was fun because they had a "scary" mini haunted house section where you could go through and try and figure out was real an what was fake. That was fun :) . After that we wanted to go to the M&M factory, so instead of walking around trying to find it, we asked this guy working in the casino (so not the smooth move). Let me go back to before the day started, my cousin Autumn is a former model and now a make up artist and she beautified me for the day, so I was all dolled up. So back to the creeper, long story short he asked Jaren if I was his wife and why he brought me to Vegas to take me to the M&M factor. And after staring me up and down like a piece of meat he was like dude she's hot. Yeah a not so creepy compliment. We looked at the time and realized we actually had to go back to Mike's and Autumn to get our stuff and go to the airport! We got lost getting back, but found our way and Uncle Grant was able to get us there on time.
Tuesday- We made it to Hawaii!! Our first day there we hit up the beach and went body boarding! We had a blast! We were so exhausted from a good day at the beach we left, just as it started raining, but rain there never lasts long :). We were also quite ready after we decided to take one more wave in body boarding, yeah that was a fail. It ended up being a good size wave and ended up making up do somersaults in the water. Not so fun when you get scraped up and get water up your nose! The good day made up for it though. After that we grabbed some lunch and went to the store to get groceries for the week. When we got there our cousins Hannah and Abby were so excited to see us they wanted to do a picnic inside lol. So we made tacos and had a "picnic" . We also went to a fun mall that was close by! It was a good first day, it was so hard having jet lag (only a 5 hour difference...)
Wed- Our second day there we decided to go to the North Shore! We went to see the temple the there and the visitors center. It was beautiful, it was too bad we couldn't go in, but they were doing remodeling. One of the Sister missionaries told us about the Hukilua cafe! It was just down the street. Some of you might recognize the name from the movie 50 First Dates. They borrowed the name of the cafe for the one in the movie. It was good authentic Hawaiian food. I had been telling Jaren about Matsumoto's a shaved ice place there that is so yummy, but when we called his cousin's to see where it was, the told us to go to another place where the locals go called Angels. I also went snorkeling for the first time! At first I didn't like because there was a leak in my mask and I kept getting water it my nose, but after Jaren fixed my mask and traded me his I loved it! We saw so many colorful fish, and sea urchins and eels! After going to the beach that day we hit up the shaved ice there. It was SO good. They put vanilla ice cream on bottom, then shaved ice, 3 flavors you wanted, condensed milk and whipped cream! They were so huge too! I could've eaten one to myself, luckily we shared ha ha.
Thurs- We went to the Polynesian Cultural Center! It was a blast! We got to explore different "villages" and learn all sorts of fun things like weaving coconut leaves to tahitian dancing :) . That evening we we went to a luau, a Hawaiian must! There was so much delicious food! And hula dancing. We even got pretty flower leis. After the luau, we walked around some shops for fun before the night show began. The night show was amazing! The talent they had was fabulous! I have no idea how those girls shake it, but wow! And they had fire spinning "warriors". Afterwards, we decided we wanted to be sneaky and take a walk on the beach (most beaches "close" at 8 lol. So we snuck onto the beach and went for a midnight stroll. How romantic! ♥
Fri- In the morning April made us pancakes and told us they (her and the girls) were going to the beach, so we decided to join them. We spent a good portion of the day there, but when we got there we were so excited to play and I was worried about the girl's getting on sunscreen, we ourselves forgot sunscreen....bad bad BAD idea. When we're leaving to go back home, we're starting to "feel the burn", but didn't think it was so bad, we were so wrong. We were staying at a hotel on the beach on the other side of the island for a romantic night away. Major fail. We got lost several times, and when we got there our body's ached so badly from sunburn it hurt to sleep or put aloe vera on. They did have fireworks going off over the ocean, which were pretty to watch and get our mind off of our pain, but we did not sleep well at all.
Sat- Saturday we hit up the swap meet! We hadn't bought any souvenirs until then because we knew there would be rockin' deals, and there were. We bought hats and t-shirts and a lukelele and beach towels, all for a great price. When we got back home, we're so hot we took a nap, and after we woke up Jaren was going downstairs when Hannah, was at the doorway, and she told us how she had been waiting for ages and ages for us to come down ha ha. We're so hot we decided to go to the pool and cool off, which was nice and refreshing. That night we went and had dinner with Jaren's bosses in Hawaii. It was fun visiting them and the made a fabulous dinner.
Sun-We didn't do much except visit, relax and watch a Harry Potter.
Monday- Our last day! We sure made it amazing. We went snorkeling again, and went to the Dole plantation and did a huge maze and got pineapple icecream, then went to Angel's and got shaved ice, after several hours of snorkeling we went home and went and got Thai food at this amazing restaurant, chad also had us try coconut icecream there. Yeah lots of icecream, but it was amazing! We then left on a plane that night for our way home.
It was a fabulous trip and I hope we can go again! That's all for now! Time for bed!

Spring Fever!!

I know I say this almost everytime, but it's been awhile! AND this blog will be much more entertaining to read, as last times I was going through a rough patch. Life is going great! The sun is shining, flowers are bloomin' and it's warm!
Everything is back to normal at work, except my co-worker Nicki had her baby - yay! And we have a new gal, Diane at work. She is so sweet and we enjoy working together.
Well, the reason for my slacking of updating is because my husband just started having Wednesdays off! Which also happens to be my day off, so it's kind of our play day. On St. Patrick's Day we relived our first date we went on a year ago. Oh buddy and this is a story lol....
So we first started out by going to 360 Cafe on 25th street because that's where we went. We've gone in there a few times since then and know the owners pretty well. We had some yummy soup and after all the customers left they shared some of their ridiculously delicious cookies with us. Afterwards, we headed to the Union Station.
Ohhh, the Union Station. We always seem to meet the most interesting people there. Like for example, Joe, who we met on our first date who took us through the Browning gun musuem only to somehow venture off into some akward conversation about his ex wife's 44 F size boobs. Anways, we went to see if good ol' Joe was there, but he wasn't. So after looking through the train portion, we went upstairs to the Browning musuem (where we previously met Joe). We scanned through the guns (since the previous year we got each one's history, thanks to Joe lol). We're about to head down the stairs when Jaren came across this random hall, and asked the lady sitting at the desk, "hey what does this hall go to?" she oh so seriously got up and said, "that's where the most paranormal activity takes place." then looking at Jaren with a serious look on her face said, "I could telepathetically tell you wanted to go down there. If you don't tell anyone, I will." and Jaren "seriously" said back, "oh you picked up on that huh?" ;) and off we went! I'll admit it was pretty warm in that building, but when we went into that hall, there was a bone chilling breeze. She told us some of the ghosts that live there and we enjoyed the stories. We still crack up about her telepatheticness lol.
Then we went to the old cars musuem and learned some interesting facts. Two gentleman were leading us through and we told them it was our anniversary date, and one of them let us sit in a vintage gangter gar (literally, this gang used it). It was prettty awesome, since no one is allowed to sit or even touch the cars! The elder of the gentlemen got really excited about the cars and took off with Jaren and I was with the other one. Yeah, pretty much got his life story. I didn't mind, since most of these people are volunteers it seems like they just need someone to talk to. Afterwards, we went into the antique shops we like to browse around and I put on the same gooofy hat I tried on the last year. We would've bought it, but for $60, no thanks. Besides, it's fun going back and seeing it still there.
This past week we sold our expedition to Bryn, and Bryn and I went and got haircuts. I am so pleased with mine! She took of 3 inches of split ends, gave me layers and bangs. We also looked at a few houses. We're still looking for a house, the house we want we nicknamed "the swan house" as it is on Swan street, is up for rent...too bad for us someone is renting it. We just realized though that with buying a house you have utilities to pay and we didn't take that into the budget. So we'll see what happens. If anything, it's still fun to look.
We've still been keeping up the tradition of movie night with Dustin. I look forward to Tuesday nights because of it. We've had a lot of fun enjoying each other's company and watching new movies.
So there's our exciting life! It's nice to have something to write about other than work. Upcoming and exciting events: Bryn is having a girl! Baby Lyla will be here in August. Brooke's baby boy Cannon will be here in June. And Sara's baby will be born in cold Alaska in August? too. Hawaii is just about 8 weeks away, and by the time we get back my family will be here! That's all for now.

So it's been awhile...

Hey Everyone!
So it's been awhile, but life has been crazy! Not in the awesome amazing crazy, like in the ughhh I just want the drama to be over crazy lol. No worries things are fine now, but we hit some bumps in the road in the last few weeks. First there was a huge miscommunication at work, which almost led me to quitting my job. Then there were just other little tid bits thrown in there that just made life a lil' bit miserable. Anyways, no one wants to hear that, so I'll just move on to the exciting stuff.
After venting to our bishop all of my frustrations at the time, he encouraged me to attend the temple by myself, more so in saying I needed to build a stronger relationship with my Heavenly Father (without relying on Jaren ha ha...ex: when we pray about something, I seem to say, "Ok you tell me what your answer is, because I have a hard time getting my own answers.") So Amy and I took our first trip to the temple without our husbands. It was a great experience, and we got yummy Farr's ice cream afterwards.
The beginning of this month we were able to see Ms. Brandy Giacoletti, One of my dearest friends I met in Germany. We met up and went to Olive Garden, it was short, but sweet visit.
We've also started doing a movie night every Tuesday with my uncle Dustin. It's been a blast and we look forward to it every week.
We also got our tax returns!! Wooooohooo!! We paid of the Jeep! And paid of our trip to Hawaii. Now we just have to finish up 2 payments on the tires (we didn't pay those off right away, because I'm building up my credit). So it's been nice to have the extra money. Jaren was even so sweet to let me buy a new dress :) .
So there's our life as of now! Upcoming and exciting events: SPRING is almost here! Next week we're doing a date to celebrate the one year mark our our first date :), and Hawaii vacation is coming up May 31 - June 8!! Until next time,
Love, Jess

Valentines, Asthma Attack, and house hunting.

Hey Everyone! Sorry it's been so long, nothing too interesting has happened I guess lol! So, we just got done with Valentine's day, and that was a lot of fun. We celebrated by going to a young married couple's dance put on by the institute from our church. We showed up a half hour late, because I had to work, but there was still lot of yummy food. They catered Javier's, a yummy mexican food place here, and Zeppe's Italian ice. We also enjoyed taking professional pics, and of course, dancing. It turned out great. It reminded me of the dances I'd go to when I was in high school, or the young single's dances. But this time I had a husband! So that was Saturday night...best part was, it was all free!
Some friends invited to go over to their place after the dance, but Jaren was more like we'll see, and I wondered why he was more hesitant. So we got in the car and he told me he had something better in mind and I'd be getting my Valentine's early. So we hopped in the car and drove and I kept asking questions, and all he said is, "it's ugly, but that can be fixed". Oh no lol. Long story short he got me a luvsac! aka a HUGE beanbag like thing. They usually run from $300-$400. But he'd found a ugly, bright one for $80. Movie watching is so much better. So after picking up the beast we went and rented a movie and enjoyed the comfiness. Oh I was also surprised with a box of chocolates, the good stuff. He picked out blueberry cheesecake fudge. Pure amazingness. So there's Valentine's.

So Monday rolled along and I was excited because not only was it our 6 months, but we both had it off and were going to go see Valentine's Day. I instead woke up with my throat all sore. Change of plans! So we just rented and relaxed. Knowing we HAD to do grocery shopping, we went to Costco and Walmart. My asthma started acting up so we went home, and I took my inhaler figuring it was acting up from my cold I was catching. Yeah the inhaler so did not work.

After trying just about everything, I just decided to relax and read my book. Then all hell broke loose! My wheezing increased, I started blacking out, and crying because I couldn't breathe (note to self that does NOT help you breathe easier.) Jaren came and tried to calm me down and gave me a blessing, it calmed me down, but I was still pretty bad, so we had Kevin come over and help with the blessing (for those who don't know about our religion we can give blessing for the sick, but you need 2 men to do it) . I started breathing better, but didn't get any sleep that night. But then again, who would when you can't breathe? I slept for maybe 2 hours only because I took a benedryl to knock me out. I was supposed to go into work, but with the night before leaving me restless and with no sleep, that wasn't an option.
So I stayed home all day, I was still wheezy, but started feeling short of breathe again and called Jaren to have him come home. I called my dr. and told him what was going on, and he prescribed me some meds for my breathing treatment and predisone . Oh, yeah I also got disciplined for not going into the ER the night before, as he could hear me breathe through the phone. After going to pick up my medication, Jaren and I both were like, " wow really? we're so worried about money, but really it comes down to it, some bad stuff could've happened." Yep, next time something bad like that happens, we'll be going to the ER.

So some of you may know, we've been house hunting. We found an awesome house we love, it does need a lot of work done, but it's in our price range. We went to a mortgage officer to see about how much we could get, too bad for I don't have any credit, so Jaren alone got $115,000. So after much thinking about we decided, it'd be best for me to build my credit and wait so I could co-sign. Our bro in law, Andrew, is a real estate agent and told us that the house we want, can't have any offers put until this summer, because of something like the owners are bankrupt. So long story short: this summer it should be only what they couldn't pay off on it. Which makes it pretty cheap! Or at least lower than the asking price. And no one can make an offer! Hopefully we'll be ready by then! So as of now, we'll just put that on hold.

Upcoming and exciting events! My brother is getting baptized Saturday! Yay! I offered to write/ email a talk for my mom to read at his baptism (as we won't be there since it's in Kansas.) Friday we have steak dinner at my uncle Dustin's - yum! And that's about it. Oh! And it's getting sunnier and warmer by the day, and I'm getting so giddy for the spring/ summer. I want to go on vacation, but that won't be till later this summer for our 1 year. That's all for now! Love, Jess

An Amazing 21st Birthday!

Ok, I couldn't help but coming on here and jotting down every memory on here so I wouldn't forget details! Pretty much my husband spoiled me rotten! I'll start from the beginning :) .
I got off early from work Wednesday, and I thought we're gonna go straight there from when we left...all this was a surprise, so I had no idea where we're going. But to my surprise, Jaren said oh, we're going home to have lunch then we'll go. And then this would be where I Jessica Lynn Whittington threw a 21 yr old tantrum. Those who know me well, know I have no patience at all! So I had gotten all excited and it was like he popped my excited balloon right there. I eventually got over my bad self and realized how ridiculous I was being and got excited again.
After eating lunch, Jaren told me I had to wait in the bathroom because he had to gather a few things, so I waited in the bathroom for a good 10-15 minutes, then he said ok, go sit out on the couch and just wait there. After 5-10 minutes of that he said ok let's go! And covered my eyes when we got in the car. I was so excited and it lasted for a good 30 minutes, until I then again got impatient and didn't like having my eyes covered. Jaren had accidently gotten lost, so we took a little detour. So he has me cover my eyes and we walk in and he's just talking to the receptionist and the whisper some things and she says we need to go to another building. I later found out he'd put his finger to his lips so they wouldn't say welcome to the Anniversary Inn. So back in the car it was. We finally made it, and by then he told me to open my eyes, then close them before we got to our room. When I opened my eyes I saw a big alligator, and a jungle themed room! Those who don't know the Anniversary Inn has themed rooms that are amazing! I'll put a link to our room at the end. Oh and might I mention, Jaren had brought fancy clothes and I wondered what was going on. But he said I would just have to wait. Can I just say I have an amazing husband? He brought all my make up, including eye make remover and eyelash curler. And a curling iron, flat iron, and flat iron protectant spray. He also picked out my heels and jewelry for our evening out.
So this morning we woke up, watched a movie in bed, then got ready and were able to tour all the other rooms. It was a lot of fun, because we got ideas for future times :) . After we just hung out around Salt Lake around temple square. We had a lot of fun going through all the different building and taking tours.
After it started getting late Jaren told me we needed to change our clothes in one of the bathrooms in the visitors center. So we changed into nice attire and Jaren told me we're going to The Roof, a fancy restaurant that's at the top of a roof of a building and over looking Salt Lake City and looks right out to the temple. While deciding over our variety of meals, we sat down to eat (it was buffet style). We're sitting there eating and he pulls out every girl's dream box: the Tiffany blue box. And inside was a little silver band engraved around it that says " I love you". Inside was also a little card that said " To my eternal love on your birthday. You bring me happiness such as I have never known. I thank God that you came into my life and taught me what it's like to be whole. I love you. Your Husband, Jaren. " Awww! lol. We proceeded to eat just a few of the 25 desserts they had on display. After eating we just enjoyed each others company, not wanting the night to end.
That's all for now! Love, Jess

It's about time for an update!

Hey Everyone!
Not a whole lot going on here. It's been weeks since I last updated; sad, but true, we don't really have much excitement happening lately. We're still keeping super busy with work, and Jaren is also taking a computer class.
Well, I guess I last updated on my allergies, or well vented. Needless to say, the procedure for animal dander was an epic fail. Oh well, what can ya do? It was worth a shot.

Some recent exciting news is I FINALLY did my evaluation for work, aka the dr. watches me do the procedures and if I do it right and pass = pay raise and free contacts. I talked it over and so far so good, I just have to do a take home test and I'll be well on my way. Baby blues, here I come!

This past weekend we're able to go to Bear Lake and spend time with my Whittington family, and we had a blast. We stayed at a comfy cabin, enjoyed each others company, and went sledding! It was a short and sweet get away, and I wish it could've been longer.

Tonight we just went and bought a "new" old computer lol. Why? Because Jaren needed windows to do his homework and I have a mac. It is true, one mans junk is another mans treasure. We found an old computer and new printer for only $95! Sweet! Then we joined my cousin for shake's at the Jake's Over the Top in Centerville. Yeah, they can't even come close to the Jake's in Ogden. My shake was good, but pitiful compared to the Jake's we live by.

Upcoming and exciting events: Monday birthday celebration with the Whittingtons, Tuesday get off work early for birthday surprise, Wednesday HAPPY 2-1 to me!!

Until next time,
Love, Jess

Just your weekly update :)

Well, in all honesty, nothing exciting has happened this week. We worked. Went to see Sherlock Holmes. Um worked some more. Yep. So this is going to kind of be a boring post, but oh well :) . OH WAIT, I'M OFFICIALLY A WHITTINGTON! :D
Today I'm going to go back to see the allerginist doctor to "fix" my allergy to pet dander. [PS skip this whole paragraph if you don't want to hear me vent] I'm really not looking forward to it though, on the account I have a feeling I'm not going to be very nice. So far he's sucked in oh about a good $200 from us that we don't have. Treated me for allergies I never knew I had, and oh failed to fix one of the allergies I do have. My wedding ring makes my finger break out and he was going to treat me for that and it was an epic fail. Although it did works for a week or so. The reason I'm so bitter is because when I went to confront him about the ring allergy, he's all well we'll treat you for nickel allergy then or test for it. And briskly answered our questions before pretty much shoving us out the door. In my own opinion, if a doctor wants to keep his patients in the crappy economy he'd best be giving them some well deserved customer service. So there's just an earful of what he's probably going to hear today, though I'll try and be on my best behavior :) .
On the brightside of things, we get to stay at kevin and Amy's tonight! Yay! Although we're all just going to have to go to bed because of work in the morning lol. We're also going to the temple tonight which will be refreshing, and hopefully calm my bad side ha ha.
Upcoming and exciting events: Bear Lake cabin this weekend, and 2 weeks till I'm 21! I'm so excited! Jaren has this big surprise and I just can't wait! Until next time....

Love, Jess

Ah, a start to a new year...

Well the holidays have come and gone, and they're just as magical as I hoped they'd be. My grandparents and family came to visit, and that was just a blast. My husband spoiled me rotten. Seriously rotten to the core. I got 4 pairs of shoes, and a load of my favorite make up, which is not very cheap. Yeah, doesn't leave him with much options for my birthday lol. My parents also got me a nice starter camera, so I'm pretty excited about that.
Christmas night we had a scare, we had
this gut instinct we shouldn't go home. It was such an evil feeling, I started bawling before we got onto our street. We ended up staying at
my grandma's house; and Jaren, my uncle, and dad we
nt and checked out our place the next day. Nothing seemed out of place, but we thank God everyday that we had that feeling not to go home. Who knows what would've happened, and I'm not sure I want to know.
New Years Eve we had a simple family get together
at our place and played games. It was fun and we enjoyed e
veryones company. New Years day we took adorable family pictures. They tu
rned out amazing. Our family ended up having a snowb
all fight, which was a lot of fun.

We're now just adjusting to reality of "real life" and getting back into our jobs, and SCHOOL! Jaren has signed up for 3 classes and I'm going to do a math class with him where it preps you to take the accuplacer test and helps you to score out of the math classes. Hopefully that all works out. I sure wouldn't mind testing out my math generals. And it'll be nice to take it together so we can help each other study.
Oh and I'm proud to announce our unofficial new years resolution has started off great - running every night, and even though it's only been 2 nights so far; I can feel a difference, and it's WONDERFUL!
Well there's our holidays in a condensed nutshell. Upcoming and exciting events: Friday: Sherlock Holmes with Kevin and Amy; Jan 12th start math course with Jaren; Jan 17- 18th Bear Lake Cabin with family; and Jan 26th early day of work/ 27th off 'cuz Jaren is doing a surprise for my big 2-1!

Love, Jess
