We finally made our gingerbread house and it turned out so cute. BUT never underestimate the ability of a small dog...yeah he jumped up and started licking our gingerbread house! He got in big trouble for that one. No damage done, just a few of our frosting icicles are missing as well as the stripes on one of the peppermints that are part of the pathway.
We also went to temple square with Kevin and Amy this past weekend. Temple Square is just breathtaking at Christmas time. I mean it's already magical, but with all the lights and the beautiful nativities, it's just wonderful. I love going and seeing the temple, it reminds me of mine and Jaren's wedding, and brings back fond memories. I love it!
Speaking of which, Jaren and I celebrated our 4 month together yesterday! I can't believe it's been 4 months already. So last night we made a fort in our living room, and cuddled up and read a touching Christmas story. It was a blast, and I'm so grateful to have a husband who's as much of kid as I am. It makes things more fun in my opinion :) . Then I guess you could say our "anniversary dinner" would be we went to TGI Fridays . It was pretty tasty, we treated ourselves to steak..yum!
Are far as our new jobs go, we're both enjoying work as much as one can. We're both glad we're not working fast food anymore. We have our "grown up jobs" now. We're both still training, but getting stuff slowly but surely. I had a bad experience at work the other day, so this grouchy lady came in, an older patient, and I had forgotten to mention I was training so I was asking a co-worker a few questions before I started. But before I could even start the lady snapped at me, "do you have any idea what you're doing!?" I was kinda taken back by that, where almost all of my other patients had been kind and patient. So I just let the other tech finish up. When I checked her out she apologized, which was nice, but now I'm kinda paranoid about which patients I do and ones I just hand over lol. Oh and lesson learned, I always tell them I'm training first. Since then, no more problems!
I did have to miss 2 days of work last week though. Luckily I have an incredibly nice boss. He told me to check in with him and let him know how I feeling and if I'd be able to make it to work the next day, so I called him up and let him know late that evening I should be well enough to work the next day. He was so sweet, he was like oh all right well you let me know in the morning how you're doing, and if you're not feeling well, you let me know. How caring is that? I've never had a boss who was like that. It was more like oh ok you're sick, I get it. But I still need someone here. It's reassuring to have a job where they care, and it actually makes me want to go in to work, because they're so nice about it.
Well those are the main highlights of our week. I feel like I was starting to ramble lol. So I'm going to end it here (seriously, I took out a big hunk of rambling). Upcoming and exciting events: Tonight temple night, tomorrow Grandma and Grandpa come in, Friday dinner with Grandpa and Grandma, Saturday my parents and brother get in, and CHRISTMAS! This will probably be my last post until after the holidays (for those who even read it!), so....
I WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Love, Jess
