Christmas is right around the corner!

I can't believe Christmas is right around the corner...literally! I'm so excited, oh and a realization...I'm still not done with Christmas shopping. Well, here's a lil' update on us.

We finally made our gingerbread house and it turned out so cute. BUT never underestimate the ability of a small dog...yeah he jumped up and started licking our gingerbread house! He got in big trouble for that one. No damage done, just a few of our frosting icicles are missing as well as the stripes on one of the peppermints that are part of the pathway.
We also went to temple square with Kevin and Amy this past weekend. Temple Square is just breathtaking at Christmas time. I mean it's already magical, but with all the lights and the beautiful nativities, it's just wonderful. I love going and seeing the temple, it reminds me of mine and Jaren's wedding, and brings back fond memories. I love it!
Speaking of which, Jaren and I celebrated our 4 month together yesterday! I can't believe it's been 4 months already. So last night we made a fort in our living room, and cuddled up and read a touching Christmas story. It was a blast, and I'm so grateful to have a husband who's as much of kid as I am. It makes things more fun in my opinion :) . Then I guess you could say our "anniversary dinner" would be we went to TGI Fridays . It was pretty tasty, we treated ourselves to steak..yum!

Are far as our new jobs go, we're both enjoying work as much as one can. We're both glad we're not working fast food anymore. We have our "grown up jobs" now. We're both still training, but getting stuff slowly but surely. I had a bad experience at work the other day, so this grouchy lady came in, an older patient, and I had forgotten to mention I was training so I was asking a co-worker a few questions before I started. But before I could even start the lady snapped at me, "do you have any idea what you're doing!?" I was kinda taken back by that, where almost all of my other patients had been kind and patient. So I just let the other tech finish up. When I checked her out she apologized, which was nice, but now I'm kinda paranoid about which patients I do and ones I just hand over lol. Oh and lesson learned, I always tell them I'm training first. Since then, no more problems!
I did have to miss 2 days of work last week though. Luckily I have an incredibly nice boss. He told me to check in with him and let him know how I feeling and if I'd be able to make it to work the next day, so I called him up and let him know late that evening I should be well enough to work the next day. He was so sweet, he was like oh all right well you let me know in the morning how you're doing, and if you're not feeling well, you let me know. How caring is that? I've never had a boss who was like that. It was more like oh ok you're sick, I get it. But I still need someone here. It's reassuring to have a job where they care, and it actually makes me want to go in to work, because they're so nice about it.

Well those are the main highlights of our week. I feel like I was starting to ramble lol. So I'm going to end it here (seriously, I took out a big hunk of rambling). Upcoming and exciting events: Tonight temple night, tomorrow Grandma and Grandpa come in, Friday dinner with Grandpa and Grandma, Saturday my parents and brother get in, and CHRISTMAS! This will probably be my last post until after the holidays (for those who even read it!), so....
I WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas...

I love it! I love seeing everyone hustle and bustle around the mall, doing last minute shopping, all bundled up. Candy cane hot cocoa. Our beautiful blue tree. The stockings are hung. The delicate snowflakes. SANTA. Remembering our dear Savior's birth. Everyone being kinder to one another. Buying gifts for loved ones, excited to see their faces. Christmas lights. Families coming together. Everything just seems magical. I wish it could be Christmas time all year long.

Can you tell I'm excited? Anyways, an update of our busy lives. Jaren had his first day of his job at America First credit union. He's liking it so far. I'm still enjoying my job at the eye clinic in the mall. I've actually been able to perform tests on patients. I feel like such a big kid when I do ha ha. And my wonderful, patient husband was so helpful by letting me practice on him. Even that annoying test we all hate, where a puff of air goes in your eyes. I've learned a lot and enjoy the people I work with.

Some exciting things that happened this past week was we went to the festival of trees in SLC, or Sandy whatever lol. For those who don't know what it is, it's an event where families can make trees for loved ones who are sick, or have passed away, and people can bid on the trees towards the cause. There are some pretty fantastic trees! People get really creative! And the gingerbread houses are pretty cool too. My favorite was the UP! gingerbread house where they used jellybeans for balloons. SO cute! If I had time and was patient, I think I would make an Up gingerbread house. It was a magical day with my husband.

Tonight we bought some fun lil' gifts for friends. We don't have a big spending amount, as we are newlyweds and college kids, but it's the thought that counts :) . Well there's the rundown, we've mostly been keeping busy with work.

Upcoming and exciting news: temple square lights with friends Saturday, family pix with Santa *including Gup* Monday ha ha, Grandma and Grandpa coming next Thursday, my family is coming is 12 days!!!!, and Christmas is right around the corner.
until next time.....

Job experience and odds n' ends.

Well, I have survived my first 2 days as a technician! I've actually surprised myself at how fast I'm picking things up, sure I need reminders here and there, but it's all good. Yes, I have even made dr. appointments, helped a lil' girl learn to put contacts in, and filed things. I've watched how the other techs operate the machines and my fingers itch to do 'em too. Soon enough. I need to get the hang of the front first. Just like anywhere else we have the grouchy costumers, old people who can't hear diddly squat, the people who insist you stop your job and attend to their needs right then and there, and can't forget the impatient talk a million mph car salesmen who pace around the room and throw their debit card at you. Adventurous? Yes. The workers are friendly and I think it'll be a good job.
Those who don't know, the eye clinic is in the mall, which makes it nice to meander to sales, the food court, and to actually get away from work while on break. It's also close to home and my hubby has been able to come visit me - yay! These first few days have been hard, because I work 9 am-7pm and he works 5pm-11pm. We've come up with ways to see each other though :) .
So lately, our friend Bonnie has been so nicely picking me up from work, but today she was running late, so I decided to go shop around. I was looking for some nice work pants and I kept seeing this guy in the same stores I was going to. I was on the phone with Jaren and thought nothing of it, just assuming he liked the same stores as me. Finally after like the 3rd store I look up and see this stalker guy coming towards me, and he asks, "do you have a boyfriend around here?". Kinda taken back by his questions, I gave him a funny look and said, "I have a husband." He looked down at my ring finger and sulked off. Creepy, but I gotta give the guy kudos for coming up to me. While I was on the phone. Bleh. One disadvantage of getting dolled up for work is weird guys checking me out. Yeah caught two more guys later checking out my butt, which has expanded, making my pants super tight. It's like wow can you be any more obvious? I know it sounds cocky, but having weirdo old people check you out is so not flattering.
So when I made it home tonight, my dearest husband had cleaned our messy apartment, cleaned our disasterous room, and garnished the whole place with Christmas decorations. There was a poinsetta table cloth, put up our make shift, sad yet cute Christmas tree up, and various Christmas knick knacks put up. And a sweet love note on my computer. It was quite the surprise!
I think we're finally escaping Jakes! I was so fortunate to get my job, and Jaren has a call back interview tomorrow with America First credit union. We've been so blessed with jobs, it's wonderful. Cross your fingers he gets it!!
Upcoming and exciting news: Thanksgiving Thursday, temple night tomorrow *pending*, girl's night Friday. And here soon CHRISTMAS!
To all those risking their lives for after Thanksgiving sales, enjoy it for me, I have to work. Be safe and get there early!

New job!!!

I got it!! Can we say excitingness? It's going to be a great opportunity for Jaren and I to earn an extra income. I'll admit, there has been a bittersweet feeling to it. I'm going to miss my awesome co workers at Jake's; along with some of the random, funny things that go on there. It's also has interesting schedule: 5 days a week, 9:30- 6 then the next 10-7. And the only holidays off are Thanksgiving and Christmas day. Yeah not so much free time to spend with my hubby :( . and it's going to take some getting used to, where at Jake's I could ask off for a week and for sure get it, and now asking for one day isn't a guarantee. I'm also put in a bind with classes, babies, and visiting family at Christmas. I am grateful for the job though, especially in this crappy economy. We were forewarned: the first year is the hardest! I always thought it was fighting and learning to live with one another, but other obstacles do manage their way in. It will for sure be a learning experience.
So you're probably wondering, what the heck am I going to be doing? I'm going to be a "Pam Halpert" aka receptionist ,those who watch the office would get that ;) ; and I'm going to be trained to be a obstertrician (I give up learning how to spell it) technician. So basically I'm gonna be the gal at the eye doctor who does the tests on your eyes before the dr. sees you. Crazy, but exciting!
Upcoming news and exciting stuff: Gup's "balls" chopped off tomorrow, last day at Jake's tomorrow, Thursday potluck/ Jordan going away bash/ Leena coming, and the wonderful weekend!

3 months strong!

Yay! Today is mine & my hunnies 3 month anniversary! Wow, time sure has passed, but it's been fun. We're just bummin' around the house today, as my wonderful sickness decided to grace me with its presence again, oh and pink eye. BUT we had a wonderful time Friday night celebrating at Disney on Ice!
Last month Jaren surprised me with tickets, and I'd been looking forward to it since. After I became sick, we're half tempted to sell them, assuming I might still be sick, but we took the chance. By the time Friday rolled around I was feeling much better, and you might as well have been taking me to Disneyland, I was that excited. Before we'd gotten there I told Jaren I wanted one of those cool souvenir cups with the slushy in it, thinking they're like $5. So we finally arrived amidst all the lil' girls dressed up as princesses, and I saw the slushy cups! Sweet! Yeah, um, never mind! For a not even cool cup that had maybe a tiny scoop of ice it was $12. So I settled for kettle corn and a soda, after all, he already paid $$ to come see the show anyways.
So we're in row 1 and we kept going, and going and going, and were surprised to find out we're in 2nd row seats!! AHHHH!! Talk about excitement! Jaren was as shocked as me, he said," I know I got good seats, but I didn't know they were THIS good." The show was amazing with all the princesses and princes. And the incredible talent the ice skaters had. I mean wow, they made it look so easy! We enjoyed every minute of it, and it was quite the magical evening.
Yesterday I went shopping with Amy and bought a new church outfit and some Christmas gifts for Jaren. I also stopped by the eye doctor clinic to check up on my pending job interview, and I have another one for tomorrow - yay! Last night at work it was pretty slow until we had a bus load of 60 middle school kids show up. It wasn't too bad though, it kept us busy.
Things to look forward to this week: follow up job interview tomorrow, jewelry making with relief society, Twilight - New Moon and my good friend Shaleena staying with us for a couple days- yay!

The adventures of Swine Flu...EWWWW!

Karma bites. Oh yes it does. I'm pretty sure it was the other day I saw someone with "the mask" aka swine flu at the store. And me and my big mouth, I always say to Jaren "SWINE FLU!" Well I unfortunately caught the bug. I thought it was just allergies and asthma, boy was I wrong. We went to hang out with friends and my head started feeling funny when were hanging out. I told Jaren it was time to go, when all the sudden it felt like I was gonna pass out/ throw up/have bowel problems. So I started freaking out and crying. Luckily none of those happened and I was able to receive a blessing from my wonderful friends.
That night was terrible. I went to cuddle next to Jaren and I was burning, even him just rubbing my back burned. So I'd shake him off and scoot away, only to be freezing...what the heck?! On top of all that my body was all in a funk and I couldn't sleep. At all. 1 am...2 am..etc. Finally by 7 am I was able to get an hour of sleep, after laying on the couch. I was able to get a prescription from the doc and Jaren went to pick it up. My wonderful friend Katie came over and gave me some herbal remedies and a vitamin drink. It was a loooong day, but we survived.
So here comes 4 am Monday morning, I wake up crying because my throat is sore and my chest feels tight (I am so not pain tolerant). Thus, waking up my poor husband. I called our doctor and asked what I should do, since we don't have insurance or $$$ to go to the hospital. After an hour of taking inhalers, steamy shower, salt water gurgle. and benedryl to knock me out we're good.
Jaren has been so wonderful, he's kept the house clean, pampered to me and even bought me cookies! Since I've been sleeping better on the couch, we pushed our 2 couches together and have been camping out in the living room. We've watched a LOT of The Office and other movies. Jaren went to go run some errands, and I was just in zombie mode laying around when my phone rang, and a gal from church said she was at my house with dinner! I told her I'd be up in a minute, as I scrambled to find my clothes ( I was just lounging in my underoos and pj pants). They made us a yummy lasagna and french bread. We also had Katie and Jordan bring over home chicken noodle soup. Needless to say, we've been taken care of pretty well. All of this would be relaxing had we not been sick.
Sadly today my hubby has caught the symptoms and is most likely getting it too :( . We're so grateful for those helping hands we've had with meals, taking shifts at work and otherwise. Honestly, this isn't the worst sickness I've had, but it isn't fun either. It knocks the energy out of me, and the sore throat and chills are horrible. I'm on what Jaren and I call "gold plated pills" $90 tamiflu, so hopefully all will be well soon.
Upcoming events! Disney Princesses on Ice Friday! I sure hope we're feeling better, those tickets were pretty pricey and it sounds like fun. Hope everyone has a good day!

Snow?? And other fun updates...

So I had some awkward dream about my youngest sis in law possessing people and all this weird stuff, and woke up to SNOW!! What the heck? Snow isn't supposed to be here! Anyways, it was still kind cool. Our pup Gup didn't know what to think of it lol.
So we've had a fabulous last few days! Friday we had a Hocus Pocus party and had WAY too many sweets and had our wonderful friends over. It was spur of the moment and lots of fun. Saturday was Bryn's cousin party, and we had a lot of fun too. Jaren made an amazing Edward Cullen and I dressed up as a queen bee lol. Sunday I was able to go to SLC and see one of my best friend' from Germany!! It was so fun going to temple square and catching up. Yesterday we went to the eye dr. and I found out why my eyes get all goopy...because I have some funky problem wrong with my eye! Yeah I brought it upon myself, because I kept my contacts in too long. I learned that lesson the hard way. So we ordered a year long supply of contacts and got a $100 mail in rebate - SWEET! I also applied for a job to be a receptionist there *wish me luck* . Today we have been lazy bums. Seriously, but it's been nice. Tonight we're going to get together with family, so I suppose we should make ourselves presentable. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSSI!!
Fun upcoming events: Ward Halloween party tomorrow, Thursday pumpkin carving with friends, Saturday work (we're dressing up!) and after that Halloween festivities!! Yay! Have a spooktacular Halloween.

Allergic to WHAT?

Hello! So we've had quite the interesting weekend. We started it off by going to the temple Friday night, then going to Chili's with Kevin and Amy. Then Saturday we went to an Edward/ Jacob corn maze. It was SO much fun. We got lost, even with a map and it took us a good 2- 2 1/2 hours to get through it. Then Sunday we attended church, relaxed at home and watched Labryinth (one of the more interesting shows I've seen...). So that kinda sums up our weekend.
Those of you who know me, know I'm pretty much allergic to anything with fur, and have seasonal allergies. During the summer months I'm this puffy eyed, red, runny nosed faced girl. SO attractive. Anyways, we decided to go see an allergen doctor to help knock out some of my allergies. So last week we went and did that and the result showed up Monday. My top 16 allergies consist of: sagebrush, weed mix, pollen mix, grass mix, dust mix, ragweed mix, animal dander, mineral mix (no wonder my wedding ring makes my finger break out!), animal epithelial, mold mix, tree mix, SUGAR mix, digestive enzymes, yeast mix, flower mix, and calcium mix! WHOA! Pause stop and rewind was going through my head. Might as well stick me in a bubble!
He told me he wanted to treat me for calcium and sugar, and basically the stuff that can appear in foods first. He wanted to start with calcium, so he did this interesting treatment and told me that I need to stay away from calcium/ dairy products for 25 hours! And gave me a measly lil' paper of what I could eat. I found out like everything has calcium! Jaren and I went to the mall, and it was hopeless of finding anything, I ended up eating a large fry and drinking distilled water. Yummy :P . It seemed like I craved all the stuff I could not have, and on top of that had to work (where we make shakes!!!). I found out that Campbell's chicken noodle soup- no calcium! So I survived a whole 25 hrs. without it. After I was done, I ate a big heaping bowl of moose tracks ice cream. Crazy huh? I go in again today to knock out some of these other allergies. If he treats me for sugar, I have no idea what I'll do. I'll go on the diabetes diet I guess.
Fun upcoming events are Bryn's Halloween party! Visiting my friend Angela who I haven't seen in 4 years, Church Halloween party, HALLOWEEN, and in November Disney Princesses on ice! Yay!
Oh Jaren went in to se why Costco hadn't called us for interviews, they're not hiring anymore. THANKS FOR THE CALL TO LET US KNOW! I will not shop there anymore...except for churros ;) . Jaren told me too bad, we didn't pay $100 for Costco cards...sigh. NEXT! Time to look for more job opportunities...

My first haunted "house" erm, hallow experience...

Ok, so usually I wait a few days before I update this, BUT I experienced my first haunted house (except this was a haunted hallow). Some of you are probably thinking, yeah, um I go to those every year, but I've never been able to because of my epilepsy! We were able to talk to the people and they said there wasn't very many strobes and I wouldn't miss a lot and could skip that part, which this nice monster lead me thru a different part where the strobes wouldn't affect me.  I for sure got creeped out, and had to have Jaren push or drag me through parts of it. Seriously. I was like a lil' kid going to the dentist. It was that scary ha ha (yes, I would compare my haunted hallow experience to going to the dentist) . I did ok, jumping like every 5 minutes or so, but the we come to this one part of the trail and there's a well. Yes a well. Oh and SURPRISE! Out crawls, not just one, but 2 of the girls that look like the girl off The Ring. And MAN did they have that creepy I'm a dead girl crawling out of a well crawl down. After Jaren listened to me holler and freak out after attempting to push me through, then trying to pull me through, we finally made it to the next spot. Ok might I mention The Ring scared the crap out of me. I think for like 3 wks. after that I always had to have the TV on and jumped every time the phone ring. Those girls scared me more than the Jason guys with chainsaws and the clowns (not that clowns are scary anyways...). Anyways, I had a fantastic time! And no seizures! I hope to go back again. Maybe if I still have my long dark hair next year and get a creepy crawl down, maybe I'll audition to be one of those girls ha ha.

October happenings!

So basically, we have been having a fabulous month. This past weekend we went over to Kevin and Amy's for pizza, and then met up with more family and friends at a corn maze! the maze was pretty simple, it took us a mere 20 minutes to get through, but nonetheless, it was fun. I say their mistake their was putting the entrace 50 ft. away from the exit. Oh well, we're venturing out to a Edward/ Jacob maze this weekend yay! After our corn maze, we went with The Odenwalder's and Jordan and Katie to enjoy Amy's hot cocoa maker, and play games.
Sunday at church, I volunteered Jaren and I to go help in the nursery with all the lil' ones! It was actually a lot of fun. The kids were so cute and made me miss my daycare job, and made me baby hungry. Soon enough though :) . Then after church we went over to the Whittington's for dinner. Yummy burladas. Basically a mix of a burrito and enchilada with chili and cheese on top. Terribly fattning, but oh so delicious.
Monday was pretty laid back. We worked. Jaren got new tires.  OH! And we loved Amy's hot cocoa maker, we went and bought one too. I swear hot cocoa will never be the same, this thing is revolutionary ha ha. Yesterday we went back into Costco to make an appearance all gussied up, so they'll be calling us for interviews. Problem is since we're married, they might be able to only hire one of us, or try to put us in different departments. As much as I'd like another job, I'm thinking Jaren will be the likely canidate, because he can lift heavy objects. We'll see! Wish us luck!
After Jaren went in and finished up work for Tannon, we went to the mall and had Pretzelmaker for dinner. Oh yes, we are so healthy.  I was able to buy leggings for my costume and a new jacket. Afterwards, we went and bought The Proposal. Walmart $15.99 for the first 3 days FYI. And went home and watched that and enjoyed yummy frothy hot cocoa. After Jaren was able to get our fireplace going and turned on our wedding CD and we slow danced to music. Of course, we're too silly to let the romance last for TOO long, so we'd pretend to be awkward people from church/ school dances. We've all run into those. The awkward jock. The giggly girl. The starer. The goody good. We had a lil TOO much fun, but it gave us a good laugh.
Well I swear my mounds of grimy dishes are calling my name, along with the laundry. Tonight should be fun. Haunted Hollow! Yikes! Thursday a friend's wedding reception. Friday temple session. Saturday corn maze!

The weekend could not be more welcomed...

Well what a day. I am listening to the loud, lovely music from my wedding, "Have you ever loved a woman?" to be precise.  So last night was crap. Long day at work, and then Jaren and I got in a dumb argument. Seriously dumb, it's too embarassing to post about. Needless to say, we're over it. So I wake to lovely cramps, that by the way are 2 days early. So I thought, I'm gonna have a day for myself, and I made some malt-o-meal and relaxed in front of the tv and watched Gilmore girls. It was such a lovely, relaxing time, and then I hear this horrible singing from upstairs. Great. He's at it again. Oh for those of you who don't know my neighbor loves to sing karaoke. And sucks. And I am so not being harsh. I have no talent in singing, but at least I'm not THAT terrible. Also those who've heard my dear husband sing know what good singing is. Being the PMSing chic I am, his singing is the last thing I want to hear. And where is my ipod during this drastic time? MIA. Lovely. So my first thought was the radio, eh, not good connection down here. then I thought of church music. Jaren has a plethora of it. I mean that's not TOO mean, I'd just help him be spiritly intuned? Nope. Then the light bulb turned on and I remembered Jaren had our wedding CD in the sound system. So on it went. And along came my singing. I don't think he's taken the hint, but at least I don't have to hear him. Wow, rereading this I sound like a real......anyways. I'm PMSing don't mess with me.
Well the weekend sounds promising! Tonight we're going to family's for my cousin's birthday.  And tomorrow we're hanging out with friends tomorrow and going to a cornmaze! Yay! Bleh. I needed to nag. I wish my husband was home. I want chocolate. I suppose I can go shower and make myself presentable. Thanks for listening to me vent.

Update!

So basically it's been awhile. Jaren and I decided to go on a random roadtrip to go see our grandparents. So off we went to Cody, WY and then to Spokane, WA. It was a blast! Cody was so pretty, and we enjoyed spending time with his grandparents. Then we headed to WA to see my grandparents, which was fun too. Sadly, their water wasn't working, so we ended up going to my aunt and uncle's to shower. Needless to say, that day didn't get started off too quick. We enjoyed our stay and did all sorts of fun stuff. The trip home was interesting. We decided to buy the 5th season of The Office to keep us busy for the 12 hour drive home. It sure killed time and made us laugh.
Yesterday was interesting...yeah our landlord woke us up making his own separate entrance to our house. That wasn't annoying or anything, then again it was 11 a.m. lol. We also applied for jobs at Costco for the holiday season, and we went in to make an appearance. Cross your fingers we get a call back! Sad day. They're doing flu shots for $20, and we got them. And it hurts. Don't listen when they say it doesn't hurt...they sit on a throne of lies. Then we went to wally world to run errands and this gay guy, total flamer, checked out Jaren and grinned at him. Jaren was so disgusted. It was hilarious. We also saw this hispanic family with albino girls...that was cool. And we picked up our wedding pix! Yay! (those are on facebook). Oh and we bought our puppy this bumblebee costume. It's so cute. I laughed so hard when we put it on him. No wonder he doesn't like me. Oh sweet revenge.
So there's a mini update. Not too much happening. Jaren works the rest of the week, I work tomorrow. And Saturday corn maze fun! Yay!

Fun Stuff!

So it's been awhile since I updated, but life has been, well, fun! Last weekend we went camping with my uncle and 3 cousins, oh and Gup. We stayed in a beautiful area and went on quite the adventure of a hike the next day to see a waterfall. That Sunday we had a couple's dinner with some of our good friends. It was a blast. Can I just say George Forman grills make AWESOME burgers, or maybe my husband just has talent? ;) . And Tuesday we went on a date with Katie and Jordan to Farr's ice cream (this super old, but retro like ice cream shop), and walked around Ogden temple square.  That was our fun weekend. The last couple days haven't been anything too spectacular. I've just been home trying to find ways to occupy myself.
Yesterday I thought I was going to die from boredom. I finished the last book in he series I was reading and was like oh great, now what? So I did some cleaning, laundry, and started knitting a baby hat (oh goodness I sound like one of those 50s housewives, huh?). Well I was listening to music while knitting and went to go watch something on youtube. And I came across this make up artist named Kandee Johnson, and she shows some awesome ideas! It wasn't the most productive thing I could do, but I learned how to do some hot make up ideas, thus, putting on my make up for my hubby. When Jaren came home he loved my make up and complemented me (see they're worth a look ladies!), he also surprised me with my favorite candy: a chocolate covered honeycomb candy. Not just a candybar, but a big hunk of it, a lil bag full of it, and one of the rare candybars.  It was awesome, and you can probably guess what my breakfast consisted of ;) .
Tomorrow we set out on a new adventure; a roadtrip to Kodey? Wyoming to see Jaren's grandparents, then up to Spokane to see my family. We're excited and will probably have some fun stories to come. That's all for now!

Blessings in abundance!

Ok, so it's been awhile, but wow these last couple days have been awesome. My husband and I celebrated our 1 month anniversary. Since Jaren wasn't feeling good, we went around historic 25th street and to the cafe where we had our first date. While we're there, we decided to check out a pawn shop. Normally I'd steer clear of those places assuming "eh junk", but we went in. Long story short we got 3 DVDs for $5! SWEET! And no scratches.
And yesterday was just pure awesomeness. My wonderful Aunt Kathy knew Jaren and I had been sick so she brought us not just homemade chicken noodle soup, but rolls, cheesecake and gingerale! Since I worked day yesterday, it was nice not to have to make dinner, and kudos to my sis Jossi for helping get to work! Another wee trial we've been facing is I've been running out of a certain medication. neither one of our jobs has benefits, and we don't have the $$$ to go to the doctor for a refill. Someone must've been watching over me, because a man I knew at my old church in Germany, lives here and was able to help me out. And we'd checked prices for the meds and it was $68! Luckily we found it at Target for $20.
Oh we're also able to get our bridal/ groomal pix. And sneak peek at our wedding pictures! ( I'd post them on here, but that'd taking know how to actually do it...check 'em out on facebook). Everything seems too good to be true, and we're grateful for all the lil' blessings that've come our way.

A wonderful start to the weekend...

Have I mentioned I have the most amazing husband EVER? So yesterday, I was just patiently waiting for Jaren to come home, and he's kinda hiding behind the door. So I went up there and he had this BEAUTIFUL big bouquet of flowers, oh and brownie bites :) . Today, exception of us being sick, has been wonderful. We met new neighbors, went to yard sales ( with no success), went to Desert Book and rented a movie. While at Desert Book we bought the cd, " What We Wish We Knew When We're Newlyweds". So far it's been enjoyable and funny. We came back, watched, "Labor Pains", kinda different, but it nice to snuggle. Afterwards we cuddled while reading our new books. I wish things could be better for poor Jaren, he's miserably sick with a cold :( . For the rest of the night, we'll probably just be homebodies, exception of going to the store to get more kleenex and cold meds. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend!

Getting better?

Lame. Lame. LAME. I'm slowly, but surely getting better. Just enough to have a tad bit of energy, but not enough ambition to walk anywhere (like the mall, which would be a good 30 - 45 min. walk). I'm tired of being home and being sick. I kind of want to watch a movie, but that's no fun by yourself! Ok I'm just being whiney, but ya know ;) . I have done 1 thing today - I unblocked my debit card. Stupid itunes blocked, and after a good 12 minutes they figured out what was wrong. BAM! one phone call to change the day. My uncle, Dustin, is coming over to hang out with me, and bringing lunch - yay! I should probably do something productive, so when Jaren gets home he's not doing the dishes and laundry. That would make him happy. I felt bad last night, i looked/ felt like death and Jaren had a good 10 hr. day and had to come home and do housework. on top of me being sick, our dumb dog decided to eat our landlord's dog's dog food and had diarrhea and was puking all over. Lovely huh? So not only did Jaren have to take care of a sick wife, he had a sick dog to take care of too. Did I mention I have the best husband in the world lol? Well as you can see, my life is oh so exciting. So before I bore ya more, I'm gonna end it here. Love, peace and chicken grease.

Not awkward at all...

Ok. What a start to the day. I slept terribly waking up every few hours, and was bummed to realize my husband works a long shift today. Well the morning started out fine despite my freak cold I got. In the mornings I like to just lounge in my garments/ underwear and this silky robe I got. Well as some of you know, we have a basement apartment and our landlord is some single guy upstairs. So I decided to call my mom to kill time, and our puppy runs upstairs as our landlord lets his dog out. Ok, note we have no blocking from the downstairs to his place...yet. And I'm trying to hide behind the wall so he won't see me. Major fail. Needless to say, I put on Jaren's b-ball shorts and a shirt very quickly. So I take my dog out, and his dog is out there, and is mean. Our dog, Gup is just wanting to play, and this other dog wants to fight. Well Gup won't listen to me when I call him, so here I am *sniffle* GUP! GET IN HERE! *sniffle* Meanwhile he's looking at me like I'm just retarded. So hopefully this cold gets over soon, and my stupid do will stop testing me (as he sits at the top of the stairs, looking at me like, "try me. see what happens.") I can't write much today 'cuz I feel like crap! Lesson learned, do not attempt to lounge around in just a robe and "g's" , with a rambunctious puppy and an awkward neighbor.

The second day...

So basically when Jaren left yesterday for work, I was like bleh. The ambitious go get 'em wife was so not there. So here I was laying in bed texting my bff Amy (she was home because she had surgery the day before). Realizing we're both stuck home and bored, Amy asked me if I wanted to go to the mall! SWEET! I was all excited and then I'm like, omg I can't just leave without laundry and dishes being done! So I hurried and got ready, and by some fortunate event Amy had to stop by her hubby's work, so I got everything done :) . Shopping was wonderful, more like window shopping, but it was still fun to get out and visit. Afterwards we went over to her house and watched Single's Ward.
After the movie Jaren would be home soon, so we headed back to my house, only to realize I was locked out. Amy and I both looked for way to get in, when she spotted my landlord's window was creaked open. Thank goodness he was not home and does not have a screen, I grabbed some of his building/ tool equipment and climbed up into his house and into mine ( oh yeah, I guess it would be easier if he was home, then I wouldn't be breaking into his house. Oh might I mention we have a basement apartment).
Around 5:00 Jaren got home and we got ready to go work at Jake's. Poor guy had already worked an 8 hour day and was headed for another 7 hours. Work was awesome though, it seemed like a family affair. There was my husband, my sis-in-law Bryn, and my bro-in-law Tannon, and me (well that were family). And then we had another fun girl, Cindy working. The night went pretty fast and I made up a new shake! Fresh peach cobbler. If it was not amazing, I don't know what is lol ;) .
Today Jaren had to go in, AGAIN, to go work on lawns. It's only for a few hours, but man! Sometimes I just wanna tell those rich people he's doing landscaping for to get off their designer jean butts and try mowing their own lawns, he has a family too! Guess I can't really complain, they're paying him to take care of their lawn. After that we're going to pick up our puppy, Guppy, from his babysitter's. And headed to a BBQ @ my uncle's house to visit out of town fam. I'll keep ya updated!

Housewife in training...

Well, now real life begins. The wedding is over. The honeymoon came and went. And yep, the role of the housewife thus begins. Typically this would be fine, ya know running errands and going shopping on your days off from work, but I have no car. And even if I did, I still couldn't run around on the account I don't have my license! (due to epilepsy factors).
I actually survived my first day though and was quite proud of myself! Won't lie I was a lil' mopey when my husband, Jaren, left @ 8:30 am. I tried to pull the whole big, bug eyes and sad lil' "don't leave me" voice. Buuut that failed ha ha. What can ya do? $$$ = food/pay bills. So not knowing what to do with myself or where to start (boxes and gift bags were EVERYWHERE!), I got on facebook on Jaren's iPhone. My friend Sara posted wedding pics online and I loved them; what upset me was my beautiful $800 wedding dress was in the next room COVERED in chocolate sauce from our "get-away car". I decided I couldn't just let it sit there! So I jumped into action and got a cold wash rag and went to work. Almost 2 hours later, I succeeded in getting out almost all the chocolate, exception of some of the threads.
For whatever reason, that drained all my energy. So what did I do? Played tetris on the iPhone. Note: we still don't have a tv and I didn't have my laptop. After I realized I still wasn't going to beat level 6, I decided I needed to be doing something um, useful. So I started on the living room. I cleaned it up and put on our new couch cover. By now I was on a roll and cleared our table and started on the kitchen. Oh yeah I even hand washed the dishes ( when my dad heard this he said had a heart attack and died, psh what would make his think that?! ;) ) . I also started laundry.
It was great when Bryn and my niece and nephews came over to visit later on! Bryn helped me put up pix and took me to develop pix for our frames we got. Noticing it was around 5:30ish I was becoming antsy and wanted to get home so I could start dinner. I was so excited Jaren was going to be home soon, I wanted to surprise him with homemade choc-chip cookies! I was just getting through the second batch of cookies when Jaren said he'd be home in 2 hours. 2 HOURS! I thought I was gonna die, but proceeded with my cookie mess.
What seemed like an eternity later, Jaren came home. I was So excited to see him! I had a fresh plate of cookies, dinner on the stove, and a clean house. Ya know on those old 50's movies where the husband gleefully opens the door and shouts, HONEY! I'm home! And has a big ol' smile on his face and runs to his wife and sweeps her up and kisses her? Well, mine was complete opposite. My poor hubby instead, came down gave me the biggest smile he could (after working 12+ hours landscaping) and gave me a kiss and he then proceeded to the shower. Afterwards, we enjoyed dinner and each other's company. Then out of no where, I become all sensitive and say, "didn't you notice all my hard work? I've been doing this all day?" He had noticed, but he was so exhausted he couldn't show his appreciation. After getting over my butthurt feelings (which didn't last long), we ended up in a fight...a good fight though, a tickle fight! And because he was so tied, I won. Yep, it was awesome. Later we headed to bed. So overall it was a good day. Not seeing Jaren for so long sucked, but what can ya do?
Today is my 2nd day home by myself. Hopefully I can be as productive as last time!
